Continuous Discovery

Continuous discovery is the practice of maintaining regular, ongoing contact with customers throughout product development, so that decisions about what to build rest on a steady stream of evidence rather than a single upfront research phase.

Continuous discovery replaces the one-time study with a habit. Product teams talk to customers weekly, test small assumptions, and let what they learn shape the roadmap as it evolves. Discovery and delivery run in parallel rather than in sequence, so learning never stops at a project boundary.

The method pairs interviews with lightweight experiments. Each conversation surfaces opportunities; each test reduces the risk of building the wrong thing. Over time the team builds a shared, current understanding of the people it serves instead of relying on a report that ages the day it ships.
