Value Proposition Design

Value proposition design is the structured practice of shaping what an organisation offers so it fits what customers are trying to achieve — matching products, services, and benefits to the jobs, pains, and gains of a specific segment before scaling the offer.

The method starts from the customer, not the product. It profiles the jobs a segment is trying to get done, the pains they want removed, and the gains they seek. It then designs the offer to relieve those pains and create those gains, and tests the fit before investing.

This discipline reduces the most expensive failure in product and strategy work: building something well made that no one sufficiently wants. Fit is designed for, then evidenced, not assumed.
