A journey map organises fragmented interactions into one coherent story. For each stage it captures what the customer does, what they feel, where friction rises, and which channels they use. It draws on research rather than assumption, so the emotional highs and lows reflect real behaviour.
The value is shared understanding. Marketing, product, and support each see only part of the journey; the map assembles those parts into a whole that reveals moments that matter and gaps between them. It works best paired with jobs-to-be-done thinking, which explains why a customer moves through the stages at all.
