An Objective describes an ambitious, memorable aim. Its Key Results are two to five metrics that make success unambiguous. Set for a quarter or a cycle, OKRs cascade loosely from company to team so that local goals support the whole without dictating every step.
The value lies in transparency and stretch. Because OKRs are visible across teams, effort aligns without heavy coordination, and because targets are ambitious, partial achievement is expected rather than punished. Grading at cycle-end informs the next round.
