I completely re-evaluated the role of innovation in business growth: before reading this book I have to admit I thought it only entailed product new features and technologies enhancements, while now I see it has everything to do with meeting customer needs and uncovering a business USP, which automatically translates in sales! Could not recommend it more!

Why we use it

Classic pyramidal type of organizational structures are rigid, slow, top-centric and siloed. While such a structure may lend itself to efficient production, it is not well adapted to organizations wanting to innovate or organizations which require adaptability in changing times. The circular organizational structure is a superior response for organizations seeking to pursue objectives such as agility, employee involvement or innovation.

How It Works

The Project Design Canvas is organized into 6 big categories: the project direction, which the project stakeholders decide upon, the project strategy, it’s resources, project planning as well as project control.

The Canvas takes a realistic look at everyone and everything potentially affected by a project, and what role they should have in the project’s progress.
Importantly, the Canvas ensures that your project’s boundaries and strategies are defined early on, and the document is used throughout the project’s timespan as a reference, guide and can equally serve as a tool to step back and reflect on if the project is still on track. The Project Design Canvas thus ensures that every project has a goal, a plan, and limitations to prevent so-called “project creep.”

What is the goal of the model?

An organizational structure that can respond with agility. Circular organizations can dynamically adapt to changing circumstances, enable employees, allows joint leadership and are a perfect basis for innovation or any other change to happen effectively.
