The case

Why we use it

The purpose of testing is to ensure that you are making progress with your Problem/Solution fit (and later Solution/Market fit) by validating key hypotheses. The primary goal is to reduce the risk of a big failure as soon as possible and ensure that you are only moving a solution forward once it has been validated in the real world.

The mechanics

How It Works

To prove your hypotheses most efficiently, you want to use the cheapest possible proxy that allows you to effectively test the assumptions underlying your Value Proposition and Business Model. So ask yourself what you really want to learn and identify the cheapest hack possible to test that assumption. In the UNITE approach to testing, we cover the most essential and valuable testing mechanisms available. For each test mechanism available, we’ve described the test, what it measures, its reliability, the effort necessary to conduct it, and our recommendation about when it’s best to use it. So sit down with this table and your team and determine which testing strategies will work best for your solution.

The purpose

What is the goal of the model?

Early validation of your key hypotheses. As you progress, your prototypes and test setups will increase in both quality and fidelity. However, this also increases effort and cost. Therefore, you want to test your riskiest hypotheses and have your biggest failures before investing increasing resources.

Beyond the download

Use this model in Axibra, not only in a slide deck

The PDF is yours to keep. But a model changes something only when it touches the work — and that is what Axibra does with it. The model becomes the structure your decisions are made in, and every outcome stays traceable back to the input it came from.

In practice

Where this model does its work

For years we applied this model by hand, in client engagements. It now runs inside Axibra.

Innovation

Axibra helps organizations grow their innovation capability — across the whole company, not in one team.

Customer experience

Axibra helps you understand your customers better and design products and services people actually want to use.

Digital transformation

Axibra closes the infamous gap between strategy and execution, and carries a transformation through to delivery.

Thousands of organizations leverage the UNITE models — these are some of them …

Need help putting this to work in your organization?

Axibra is where these models run. It carries a decision through to the work that follows it, and keeps every result traceable back to the input it came from. If you would rather start with a conversation, we are one call away.

Strategy does not fail in the thinking. It fails in the handover.
