Outcome-Driven Innovation

Outcome-driven innovation is a method that treats the metrics customers use to judge success as the true input to innovation, uncovering the outcomes people want when getting a job done and targeting the ones that are important yet poorly served.

Outcome-driven innovation reframes what to build around desired outcomes rather than features or demographics. It gathers the specific measures customers apply to a job, then rates each on importance and satisfaction. Outcomes that score high on importance and low on satisfaction reveal where unmet needs concentrate.

The approach makes opportunity visible and prioritised. Instead of guessing which ideas matter, teams find underserved outcomes and aim solutions at them. It builds directly on jobs-to-be-done thinking, adding a measurable way to rank where innovation will pay off.
