The scorecard gives you the most critical questions you need to challenge your Business Model. It will help you gauge progress, uncover your weaknesses and get ready for your investor pitch.

The package

The case
You can prevent failure and increase the odds if you ask the right questions. Building on the lessons from 100s of start-ups and innovations, we have put together a model that covers the most critical questions allowing you to challenge your own Business Model.
The mechanics
The UNITE Business Model Scorecard covers the twelve most critical questions to challenge your Business Model. It considers traditional factors, such as costs and revenue, but also things you may not have thought of, such as imitability (how well your Business Model protects your product or service from competitors) and Lock-In Effect (how difficult it is for your customers to switch to an alternative solution once they have adopted yours). Use the scorecard in the innovation team to challenge your results or use it as an investor to evaluate the quality of a pitch.
The purpose
What is the goal of the model?
Get investment ready and create an unfair advantage. You can assess two different dimensions with the UNITE Business Model Scorecard. The more obvious one is whether you are investment ready. The second dimension, however, is a deeper one: in many cases, disruptive companies innovate not through their product, but with their Business Model. This series of questions allows you to evaluate how effective and differentiating your Business Model is, as well as whether it will allow you to scale. Use it to gauge your Business Model ideas and then return to the drawing board, using the UNITE Business Model Canvas to work on your next version.
Beyond the download
The PDF is yours to keep. But a model changes something only when it touches the work — and that is what Axibra does with it. The model becomes the structure your decisions are made in, and every outcome stays traceable back to the input it came from.
In practice
For years we applied this model by hand, in client engagements. It now runs inside Axibra.
Axibra helps organizations grow their innovation capability — across the whole company, not in one team.

A product is only as good as the Business Model (BM) that supports it, and creating an innovative product requires an equally innovative BM.

From here on
Axibra is where these models run. It carries a decision through to the work that follows it, and keeps every result traceable back to the input it came from. If you would rather start with a conversation, we are one call away.
Strategy does not fail in the thinking. It fails in the handover.
