I completely re-evaluated the role of innovation in business growth: before reading this book I have to admit I thought it only entailed product new features and technologies enhancements, while now I see it has everything to do with meeting customer needs and uncovering a business USP, which automatically translates in sales! Could not recommend it more!

Why we use it

In our rapidly evolving world, hiring for mindset is more important than anything else, including skills and experience. In fact, you should hire when you find a great person, even if you aren’t sure what position they will eventually occupy. Also, we need a fundamentally different way of thinking about hiring. It is more a process of getting to know one another than a strict interview situation. This download package contains the key elements of a new hiring process, from the skills you should be looking for to the activities and questions that will guide the getting to know you process.

How It Works

This download package summarizes several vital tools. First, the hiring pyramid indicates that in an innovation context, the priority of hiring is mindset. You can train for skills, but without the right mindset, a person will not work well (or be happy) on an innovation team. Because mindset is a priority, we offer a set of questions that you can use to guide your discussion when you sit down with candidates for the first time. Gauge their curiosity and resilience rather than their past experiences and technical skills.
We also outline the onboarding process (and, if need be) off-boarding. Why not do an extended on-site trial period where candidates meet the team and begin to see how it works before both sides decide whether they will be a good fit? We also cover an ideal schedule for the hiring process amongst many other topics.

Finding the right people! Employees are the heart of a business and this is even more the case in an innovation context. Finding the right person takes time and effort, but building the right team the first time will save you a headache down the road.
